CALLY ONALENNA RAMALEFO EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Ms Cally Ramalefo has served BOFWA as the Executive
Director since April 1992. She came in as the second Director after Her duties include planning, organising, staffing directing and controlling the affairs of BOFWA towards the attainment of the Mission. She acts as a link/liaison officer between BOFWA policy making organs, IPPF Africa Region and IPPF Central Office (London). Cally has other important roles within the Botswana Government System. She has and continues to be involved with Policy activities of the five Ministries that BOFWA collaborates with, namely; Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs and the Ministry of Local Government, Lands and Housing and Ministry of Education. Finally, Cally has been involved with the preparation of the International Conference on Population & Development (ICPD) for Cairo in 1994 as a member of the Botswana Government Team and is presently prepering for the ICPD+5 to take place in the Hague. Cally holds a Bachelors of Education Degree attained from the University of Botswana. She also has diplomas in Personnel and Training Management and Manager Development through Damelin. She has attended national and international courses on Strategic Management, Finance to Non-Financial Managers, Public Speaking, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Monitoring and Evaluation of Development Projects etc. Before joining BOFWA, she served in the Unified Teaching Service, eight years at Primary School Level three as a Senior Teacher and five years at a Teacher Training College (Science Department). |
